We care!” We are looking for a CNC Machinist to join our team in Pitt Meadow, BC. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, accurate and efficient operation of a high-volume CNC and Edgebanders equipment. This position will involve coordination and teamwork within the production department and amongst several different types of equipment. No of positions: 1 Location: Pitt Meadows, BC Hours: 40h/week Nightshift 3:30pm-2: 00 am Monday to Thursday Overtime and extended hours do occur when working to a deadline or if repairs to a critical piece of equipment are required. Wage: $21/hr plus a $2.00/hr premium for the nightshift Permanent – FT Start date: ASAP Benefits: Premiums are paid 100% by Euro-rite and include: Extended Health Care benefits (MSP coverage, prescription coverage, dental, (for dependent children), long-term disability, life insurance, and many paramedical services) Employment requirements CNC-Machinist certification or relevant education in combination with work experience 3 to 5 year of work experience with CNC Drills and Edgebanders 4-6 years of work experience in equipment maintenance, repair, and setup Advanced computer skills-Windows, CAD/CAM Machine interface, Microsoft Suite Highly accurate measuring skills and ability to interpret technical drawings and information Advanced math skills-Unit conversions, arithmetic operations, ratios and percentages Efficient machine operation with strong mechanical aptitude High level of concentration, attention for detail and quality control Clear written and verbal communication, able to communicate complex plans/matters Self- motivation to keep up with high volume production demands Analytical troubleshooting-ability to identify the root cause of issues and resolve Language: Basic English Job Description: Understand and follow all corporate safety policies and procedures, including PPE requirements Maintain exceptional attendance and punctuality Maintain a positive attitude and approachability, working effectively solo and in a team setting Read technical paperwork and drawings to interpret specifications and machining parameters Select the correct program and perform basic programming and data entry to prepare CNC equipment Setup and maintain grippers, stops, tooling, etc…as per the program specifications Monitor drill/cut quality, flag maintenance as soon as issue noticed Inspect, maintain and change machine tooling as required Load material accurately, ensuring stop locations are clear of debris Observing machine operation, adjusting variables to ensure correct machining Coordinating multiple linked machines, setups and adjustments to ensure efficient operation Perform routine maintenance on equipment, flag maintenance department with issues Verify first-run part, using calipers and tape measure to ensure quality is maintained Maintain a clean and organized work environment during operation Participate in cross-training on drilling equipment as the department requires Additional Skills: Open to learning new techniques and technologies • Work independently or as a member of a team • Physical strength to lift heavy equipment • Mechanical and mathematical aptitude Like to build and repair according to specification Problem detecting and solving skills Detail-oriented Works on a task until completion Security and Safety Maintaining a safe workplace environment should be at the priority. Safety equipment and devices must always be used and worn while at work. Work Conditions 100% Shop Floorwork, Warehouse setting with some ambient temperature fluctuations, some noise and wood dust exposure Physically demanding: Able to work in a demanding physical environment - repeatedly lifting up to 50lbs, able to push/pull in excess of 50 lbs. Standing and walking for the majority of shift. Supervision Received: Group Leader will direct sequence of work, sign off on first run quality, assist with troubleshooting and provide training.
