This is a bustling neighbourhood Restaurant + Bar situated in the newly branded Oceanside Hotel. Joe's is a project of two locals who live just a few blocks from Joe's. Stop by and say hello and watch the sunset from our patio.
Job Description:
-Lead, train, and supervise the bar team to ensure consistent, high-quality service
-Oversee scheduling, delegation of daily duties (cleaning, prep, production), and team accountability
-Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control, including regular inventory counts and minimizing waste
-Ensure the bar is fully staffed and operational for daily service, including hiring and onboarding of new team members
-Develop and execute cocktail menus and seasonal drink specials, with a strong foundation in mixology
-Maintain and service beer lines and bar equipment, ensuring cleanliness and optimal performance
-Support event planning and execution for private functions such as weddings, birthdays, and celebrations of life
-Collaborate with chefs and management to align bar offerings with food menus and restaurant goals
-Build and maintain the wine list; train staff on wine service, food pairing, and upselling techniques
-Maintain a high level of product knowledge in wine, spirits, beer, and high-end cocktails
-Drive guest satisfaction and bar profitability through efficient service, strong leadership, and innovation
Necessary Skills/Qualifications:
-Be knowledgeable of high-end products, wines, spirits, denominations of origin
-Food safe, Serving it right
-Control consistency
-Familiarity with budgeting and cost control
-Comfortable using POS and inventory software and spreadsheets
-A creative approach to drinks, service presentation, and customer experience
