Surah Ar-Rahman (The Beneficent) is the 55th chapter of the Holy Qur’an, revealed in Madinah. It has 78 verses and is named after one of Allah’s most beautiful names, Ar-Rahman, meaning The Most Merciful. This surah is unique for its repeated verse: “So which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?”, reminding both humans and jinn of Allah’s countless blessings. The surah beautifully highlights the signs of Allah’s mercy, such as the creation of the heavens, earth, sun, moon, seas, fruits, and balance in nature. It also describes the Day of Judgment, the punishment for wrongdoers, and the eternal rewards for the righteous in Paradise.
