Job duties

  • Co-ordinate and facilitate the activities of staff who prepare, portion and serve food
  • Estimate and order ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation
  • Establish work schedules and procedures – assist Owner/General Manager with scheduling shifts, taking into account the COVID19-specific rules
  • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage – assist Owner/General Manager to maintain the proper stock levels on all products
  • Keep the records of all deliveries and ensure that designated personnel puts the product away adhering to the COVID19-specific rules
  • Assist the Owner/General Manager with ordering food and beverages on the menu and making sure all needed supplies are in stock
  • Train staff in job duties, and sanitation and safety procedures (including COVID19-related)
  • Maintain records of trained staff and their duties
  • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, as well as sanitation standards as required by WorkSafeBC, in compliance with the COVID19-specific orders, regulations and guidelines
  • Implement COVID19 policies, as required by WorkSafeBC
  • Keep the best COVID19-specific practices implemented at the present time and ensure they continue post-COVID19
  • Participate in the selection of food service staff and assist in the development of policies, procedures and budgets, including those COVID19-related
  • Assist Owner/General Manager to plan menus and determine related food and labour costs

Terms of employment

Position is indeterminate (permanent), full-time (40 hours per week).

Expected Employment Start Date: As soon as possible. 




4% vacation pay

Skills requirements – Education and Work experience


Completion of secondary school required

Completion of a college program in Hospitality Management or similar required; can be replaced by lengthier experience in food preparation and service

Work Experience:

Min. 1 year of experience in food service industry required

Language requirements:

Spoken and written English required
