Job Description

  • Term of Employment: 1-year position with the possibility of extension
  • Hours of Work: Full-time, 35 hours/week
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma
  • Experience: Must have a minimum of three to five years of experience in cooking authentic Turkish cuisine
  • Benefits offered: 15 vacation days
  • Anticipated Start Date:  As soon as possible

MeatPoint is currently looking to hire one (1) experienced full-time Turkish Cuisine Chef. The Chef will be primarily responsible for planning and directing food preparation and culinary activities in line with Turkish cuisine and culture, as well as halal food standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or Turkish specialty foods
  • Instruct cooks in cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
  • Modify menus or create new ones
  • Create new recipes
  • Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
  • Plan menus and requisition food and kitchen supplies
  • Identify new culinary techniques and presentations

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of three to five years of experience in cooking authentic Turkish cuisine
  • Have deep knowledge of Turkish cuisine and culture
  • Have excellent counseling and interpersonal skills
  • Have ability to manage, train and motivate staff
