Job Title: Jiu jitsu Instructor (NOC 5254)

Terms of Employment: Full time, permanent position (30 hours a week)

Wage: CAD$ 21.00 per hour, CAD$32,760 per year

Benefits: 10-day vacation

Job Description:

As a Jiujitsu Instructor at Grace Barra Port Coquitlam, your main duties and responsibilities are:

  • Teach and motivate students.
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses of each student and develop their potential skills and abilities.
  • Plan, develop and implement training and practice sessions.
  • Advise on all matters related to the practice of jiujitsu, including its techniques.
  • Develop all activities without interfering with any orientation of the GB System.
  • Plan competitive events.
  • Motivate and prepare students for competitive events or games.
  • Effectively participate in all activities (meetings, trainings, etc.) of the Training Center.
  • Provide practical and emotional support to the team during classes and competition events.


Necessary Skills/Qualifications:

  • Black belt in Brazilian Jiujitsu
  • IPC Instructor Training Certificate
  • Over 3 years of experience training and/or teaching Brazilian Jiujitsu
  • Post-secondary education is an asset


Language Requirements

  • English required



Important Information:

  • Shifts from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday to Friday.
  • Overtime and some Saturdays may be required according to business needs.
