Detail Draftsperson

Established in 1986 and located in Etobicoke, Cana-Datum Moulds is a leading Canadian designer and manufacturer of high-pressure die casting tooling and moulds for light metal automotive components.

We are seeking a Detail Draftsperson.

Your responsibilities include:

• Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data
• Operate computer-assisted design (CAD) and drafting workstations
• Develop and prepare design sketches
• Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets
• Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data
• Write technical reports
• Prepare specifications, costs and material estimates
• Develop and prepare engineering drawings, plans, diagrams or layouts from sketches
• Compile, track, and prepare reports in adherence with company ISO procedures
• Operate computer-assisted drafting equipment or a conventional drafting station
• Perform various other project duties as required

You have a mechanical engineering degree (or an equivalent college diploma) with 2 – 3 years work experience.   

You must be proficient in English, both oral and written, possess excellent communication, mathematical and organizational skills & be computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

You are self-motivated & must be able to work with minimal supervision. Previous manufacturing experience, health & safety or manufacturing MRP/ERP experience are strong assets.
