Title of position
Metal Arts Worker (NOC 53124)
Job duties
- Design sculptures, wall hangings and other objects and create them from bronze, brass, copper, silver, and other metals.
- Design and deliver unique custom-made pieces of art made from various metals.
- Use forging and casting to produce unique architectural pieces.
- Cut and bend metal into desired shapes. Repair and fix sculptures and paintings using stone, ceramic, plaster, resin and other materials to restore the original look and feel.
- Visualize the final product and independently determine which tools and equipment to use to produce it.
- Design and read blueprints and produce products based on the design specifications.
- Use welding and blacksmith`s equipment to complete a project.
- Able to use manual machining equipment if needed
- Work with 3D modelling program using Solid works.
- Assist with final installations according to specification and building codes.
- Assist with fabricating and assembling metal fixtures, installing structures and fixtures.
- Operate truck and crane to transport products to the job sites.
- Use heavy machinery and follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Communicate with construction manager and supervise other construction workers during the final installation.
Terms of employment
Permanent, full-time (40 hours/week)
Expected Employment Start Date: as soon as possible
Wage
$25/hour

Skills requirements – Education and Work experience
Education: secondary school required
Work Experience:
- Must have at least one year of related work experience.
- Manual dexterity and critical thinking is a must.
- Must be able to work under minimum supervision.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem solving, decision making, jobs task planning and organizing.
