Title of position

Café Supervisor (NOC 62020)

Job duties

·       Supervise the operations of Andrew’s on 8th café in general, and the café’s front of the house (FOH) in particular;

·       Estimate and order ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation;

·       Assist in establishing work schedules and procedures;

·       Negotiate arrangements with our catering clients and help organizing the catering activities within our café;

·       Oversee preparing sandwiches with the kitchen staff and monitor the standards;

·       Control inventory and records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage

·       Train staff in job duties, and sanitation and safety procedures

·       Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards

·       Participate in the selection of food service staff and assist in the development of policies, procedures and budgets if so asked;

·       Resolve customer complaints and ensure health and safety regulations are followed; and

·       Plan our café’s menu and determine related food and labour costs.

Terms of employment

Permanent, full-time (30 hours/week)

Expected Employment Start Date: as soon as possible

Wage

$21.50/h

Skills requirements – Education and Work experience

Education: secondary school required

Work Experience:

• One year of supervisory experience in a restaurant, café or similar required
• Two years of food service experience required

Language requirements:

Spoken and written English required
