12817136 CANADA INC. O/A NOVA TRANSLINK has an immediate opening for 2 Truck drivers s(TEER 3: 73300) at our location Caledon, Ontario.

As a Truck driver (TEER 3: 73300), you will perform some or all of the following duties:

Truck Driver performs some or all of the following duties:

• Operate and drive primarily Trailor, long-combination vehicle to transport goods and materials.
• Loading and unloading of goods.
• Tarping and ensuring safety, and security of cargo.
• Conduct Pre-Trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of the whole vehicle including tires, signals, brakes, and storage.

·         Responsible for communicating with Dispatch, other drivers, and customers.

• Plan travel schedules, route ahead, and obtain the necessary documentation for transporting goods.
• Receive and relay information to the central dispatcher using onboard devices.
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• Carry out all duties related to driving such as record hours of service, distance covered fuel consumption, and maintain electronic logbooks.
• Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness.
• Record information about carrying material, bill of landing, and all required paperwork for transportation requirements.

·         Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures

·         Monitor service and safety inspection requirements.

Qualifications:

·         On-the-job-training is provided.

·         Excellent organizational and time management skills

·         A class 1 or A license is required to drive long combination vehicles.

·         Air brake endorsement (Z) is required for drivers who operate vehicles equipped with air brakes.

Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time (40 hours/week)

Compensation:  CAD $ 29.00 per hour
