Responsibilities
Tasks
- General maintenance of our buildings on various properties; make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs
- Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse
- Empty trash cans and other waste containers
- Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings
- Perform safety and security checks
- Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies
- Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair
- Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
- Cutting grass and fields with lawnmowers
- Weed whacking and edging
- Tree trimming, tog splitting and stump removal
- Harvesting lumber used in our operation from trees that have been cut down
- Planting trees
- Spraying weed killer/controller on various areas of properties
- Clearing shrubs and overgrowth
- Overseeing general laborers/sub-contractors that many be hired to help on properties at various times
- Snow removal and salting in the winter
- Leaf blowing and removal
- Maintaining shoreline from erosion by placing stones, gravel and other methods
- Operating various machines and equipment to perform duties on the properties
- Maintaining all equipment and machinery (i.e. - tractors, lawnmowers, weed whackers, mini-excavators, ATVs) by doing small repairs, oiling and gassing up regularly, sharpening
blades, washing and generaI care
- Organizing and properly storing all toots and equipment
- OccasionaIly run errands to purchase various items to assist or perform tasks relating to the job
- Deliver/Pickup to and from customers of small items
- Work with minimal supervision
