Tasks:
Purchase general and specialized equipment, materials or business services
Assess requirements of an establishment to develop specifications for equipment, materials and supplies to be purchased
Develop specifications for equipment, materials and supplies to be purchased
Negotiate offers from suppliers
Invite tenders, consult with suppliers and review quotations
Hire, train and supervise staff
Determine contract terms and conditions
Establish delivery schedules
Leverage the organization’s buying power to optimize costs, access new suppliers, reduce lead times, and guarantee supply
Monitor progress of delivery schedules
Contact clients and suppliers to resolve problems
Plan, organize and oversee operational logistics of the organization
Supervision: 3-4 people
Computer and technology knowledge: MS Word, Enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, MS Office, Quick Books, SAP (FI/CO / HR / MM / OT SD), MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint
