peopleCare Communities Inc. is hiring one Dietary Aid to perform the following duties:
· Prepare, reheat and service meals and beverages, breakfast items, vegetables, nourishment items, salads, desserts and catering, as assigned, following the resident’s diets and food preferences, Dietary Profiles and Therapeutic Menus
· Ensure scheduled meal and snack times are met
· Participate actively in special occasions and themed meal days
· Assist in maintaining safety, security and hygiene in the dietary department:
o Complete pre-start-up equipment checks, as necessary
o Properly use equipment and supplies
o Understand and follow the home’s fire safety and emergency programs
o Follow proper food-handling techniques
o Date, label and store food properly
o Keep the work area clean and uncluttered
o Complete scheduled cleaning duties
o Maintain cleanliness of floors in the food preparation, dish room and storage areas
o Set and clean dining tables and trays
o Assist in dish and pan washing, storage and other related cleaning duties
· Assist in monitoring the quality of food supplies received and report problems identified and recommend corrective measures
· Complete all necessary documentation for food and refrigeration temperatures, including dishwasher temperatures, as necessary
· Communicate and cooperate with coworkers, residents and their families
· Actively participate in the department’s quality management program and department or home committees as may be requested
· Attend departmental and home staff meetings, in-service and other necessary training sessions
· Assist in the orientation and training of new dietary employees
· Promote a positive team spirit within the department
· Maintain good attendance record according to company policy
· Perform other related duties as necessary and appropriate
Terms of Employment
· Wage: $18.20 per hour, 30 hours per week

Requirements
· One year of experience working independently in a similar role
