Responsibilities
- Load and unload flooring materials, tools, and equipment
- Clean and prepare surfaces for flooring installation (sweeping, vacuuming, removing debris, etc.)
- Assist in removing existing flooring (carpet, tiles, vinyl, hardwood, etc.)
- Cut flooring materials to size using hand tools or power tools, under supervision
- Hold, carry, or move materials and tools for skilled flooring installers
- Help lay out materials in preparation for installation
- Mix or apply adhesives and leveling compounds
- Maintain a clean and organized work area during and after installation
- Dispose of scrap materials and waste in accordance with site and environmental regulations
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment
- Transport tools, materials, and supplies to and from job sites
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate protective equipment
- Report any incidents to the flooring installer immediately
- Other duties as assigned
