The Opportunity

Youbou Bar & Grill, located just a block from beautiful Lake Cowichan, is a neighbourhood pub that focuses on locally sourced ingredients, wineries, and breweries - redefining the name of "Bar & Grill". We are looking for a personable  and professional Server to provide memorable experiences to our guests. The ideal candidate will have a sincere passion for hospitality and service.

What You’ll Do:

·         Provide – Excellence in customer service during customer full dining experience.

·         Servers should have a deep understanding of the ingredients and food served.

·         Demonstrate the ability to go the extra step to accommodate guest requests and suggestions.

·         Proactively assist other servers with table maintenance, running food, side duties, and assisting to take payments.

·         Be knowledgeable regarding allergy policies and procedures to ensure guests are not at risk for an allergic reaction.

·         Adhere to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies

·         Maintain a clean and efficient work environment.

·         Continuously strive for superior guest satisfaction.

·         Help patrons select food and beverages by presenting menu - offering cocktails; suggesting courses; explaining chef’s specials; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions.

·         Serve food and beverages

·         Prsent and process payments

·         Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed and directed by supervisor.

What You Have:

·         serving experience in a similar dining and beverage setting is an asset

·         Must be the age of majority to serve alcoholic beverages with a valid Serving it Right certificate.

·         Strong knowledge of wine and cocktails.

·         Enthusiastic and committed to guest satisfaction.

·         Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude accompanied by an outgoing disposition.

·         Availability to work a variety of shifts, weekends, and holidays.

·         Must be available for flexible shifts & Sundays

·         Able to work in a fast-paced environment and stay calm under pressure.

·         Must be legally authorized to work in Canada to be considered.

Job Types: Full-time, permanent

Salary: $17.85/hour
