Job duties:
· Assist elderly individuals with mobility support, including navigating stairs and personal hygiene routines such as washing and grooming;
· Operate and assist in using medical devices, such as blood pressure monitors, to measure and record vital signs including blood pressure and heart rate;
· Prepare customized meals tailored to dietary needs, with a focus on easily digestible and nutritious options;
· Maintain cleanliness by washing dishes, organizing living spaces, and ensuring a hygienic environment;
· Provide companionship through meaningful conversations to promote emotional well-being;
· Remind and assist elderly individuals in adhering to their medication schedules to ensure proper healthcare management.
Experience Requirements:
· Completion of secondary school is required.
· Minimum 1-7 months of relevant work experience.
· Completion of a Personal Support Worker certificate or equivalent caregiver training is required.
· Proven ability to assist with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support.
· CPR and First Aid certification is an asset.
· Demonstrated patience, empathy, and effective communication skills when interacting with seniors.
· Familiarity with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and maintaining a safe living environment for care recipient.
