Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Audiovisual (AV) Technician to join our team at Quest AV. The Audiovisual (AV) Technician will play a key role in live event operations, setting up, operating, and adjusting audio and video equipment to capture, mix, edit, and reproduce sound and video
for corporate events, live productions, and hybrid events. This includes managing professional AV systems, networked audio, wireless coordination, hybrid event integration, media capture, and basic video/lighting support to ensure seamless, high-quality execution for our clients. The ideal candidate will have relevant hands-on experience in audiovisual technology, live event production, or a related field, with strong technical skills in audio mixing, signal flow, and equipment operation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Audio Systems & Networking
o Lead the deployment, configuration, tuning, and optimization of professional PA systems, digital mixing consoles, and audio-over-IP networks for live and corporate productions.
- RF & Wireless Systems Coordination
o Plan, deploy, and manage complex wireless microphone and intercom systems, including frequency coordination and monitoring.
- Hybrid and Integrated Production Support
o Provide technical integration and operation for hybrid and virtual events, combining onsite audio-visual systems with remote platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and RTMP-based streaming workflows.
- Video and Lighting Technical Support
o Operate and support video switching, signal routing systems and assist with basic lighting control and setup for live productions.
- Recording and Media Capture Management
o Supervise multi-track audio recording and isolated (ISO) video capture, ensuring accurate synchronization, redundancy and media backup.
- Technical Crew Leadership and Safety
o Supervise freelance technicians and stagehands during load-in, set-up and strike, while ensuring compliance with production schedules.
- Client and Production Collaboration
o Work closely with producers, and project managers to work technical riders and production requirements, providing reliable technical execution and on-site support.
