Personal Support Worker-Nursing Care

$24.31 hourly

Job Description:

  • Location: 240 Gore Street East, Perth, ON K7H 1K9 Canada
  • Work location: On site
  • Salary: $24.31 hourly / 35 hours per week
  • Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time
  • Early morning, Evening, Shift, Morning, Night, Day, Weekend, Overtime available

  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year

 Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Notify the Director of Care of any resident and/or family concerns

  • Attend and actively participate in daily communication meetings

  • Observe and report any resident changes in condition. Provides feedback in the assessment of every resident

  • Answer call bells

  • Complete nursing documentation as per residence policies and guidelines

  • Deal courteously with staff, residents, resident families and visitors

  • Help residents maintain independence, promotes dignity and physical safety of each resident

  • Strive to understand and respond to each resident with empathy, always remaining mindful of the resident’s unique communication patterns, history and basic human needs

  • Assist with monthly blood pressures and weights as assigned.

  • Provide emergency first aid/nursing care until appropriate medical care is available

  • Practices safety and infection control procedures at all times

  • Provide full ADL support to residents as per care plan and team support, and attend to any other needs as required

  • Provide direction to visitors and callers and/or notify appropriate people as required

  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial, personnel and resident data.

  • Be knowledgeable of and practice residence's fire and safety programs.

  • The General Manager may request you assist in the needs of our residents if there is demand as we all aid in the care of our residents by sharing the workload in each department when called upon

  • Other duties as assigned
