Job Description
VERDI PRODUCE DISTRIBUTORS LTD is seeking a skilled and reliable Butcher to join our team in Toronto. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and processing a variety of meat products while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and product quality.
Responsibilities
- Cut, trim, debone and prepare standard cuts of meat including beef, pork, and poultry
- Grind meats and prepare specialty cuts or sausages
- Weigh, package and label meat products for retail sale
- Maintain product displays and ensure freshness and quality
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of meat products
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment
- Follow food safety and sanitation regulations
- Provide customer service and assist customers with meat selection
Employment Requirements
- Experience working as a butcher or meat cutter
- Knowledge of meat preparation techniques and food safety standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and strong knife-handling skills
