Job Duties:
Reporting to the Shop supervisor/Lead Technician, the Automotive Service Helper will support the licensed automotive technicians by performing the following duties under direct supervision:
Support licensed technicians in performing routine vehicle maintenance and preventive service work, including fluid changes and filter replacements
Carry out tire-related services such as mounting, balancing, rotating, and inspecting tires for wear and damage
Provide hands-on assistance during basic mechanical repairs on automobiles, working alongside certified technicians throughout repair procedures
Transport tools, parts, fluids, and equipment to and from work bays as required by supervising technicians
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling and disposal of automotive fluids and waste materials
Perform general shop tasks and entry-level support work as assigned by supervising licensed technicians
All duties are performed under the direct guidance and supervision of licensed 310S Automotive Service Technicians.
Requirements:
Secondary school diploma or equivalent is an asset
Previous experience in an automotive shop environment is an asset but not required
Ability to work safely in a fast-paced shop environment
Must be physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 30 lbs
Willingness to learn and work under the direction of licensed technicians
Valid driver's licence is an asset
