One (1) Industrial Mechanic/Millwright in Etobicoke, ON

Simple Produce Services Inc. is looking for One (1) Industrial Mechanic/Millwright to perform duties including the following:

• Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams to understand work procedures.
• Assist in installation, alignment, and maintenance of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
• Apply mechanical repair principles and procedures to make sure that machinery runs properly
• Perform machinery inspections to identify issues and ensure proper operation.
• Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
• Support preventive maintenance activities on conveyor and mechanical systems.
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in production equipment.
•  Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls
• Repair or replace defective parts using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery
• Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
• Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
• Detect defects and excessive wear in machinery and identify slight differences in dimensions and shapes of component parts
• Support welding and fabrication work when required.
• Construct foundations for machinery or direct other workers to construct foundations
• Confer with management to recommend equipment changes and modifications and in evaluating new equipment.
• Follow workplace safety standards and maintenance procedures.

Terms of Employment:

• Salary: $36.50 per hour
• Permanent, Full Time/ 40.00 Hours per week
• Start date: immediately

Skills requirements:

• Language: English
• Education: Completion of secondary school or equivalent experience; Completion of apprenticeship program or a combination of work experience and industry courses in industrial machinery repair or millwrighting an asset
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
