Job Duties:
Provide leadership and assist supervisors to ensure operations achieve the desired level of productivity in a safe, continuous and reliable fashion. Implement and initiate work activities passed on from the Department Supervisors. Holds equipment qualifications and signoffs on all priority equipment within their primary department of work, which can be used in the production operations.
• Provides guidance and assistance as part of a work team;
• Takes directions from Department Supervisor, and in their absence directs the crew independently or with minimal support from the Department Manager;
• Works under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment;
• Good understanding of administration / training abilities and leadership qualities;
• Understands and is able to implement the White River Forest Products policies, procedures and standards;
• Able to multitask and assist with other roles as required;
• Understands work may be required at more than one department, and cross department support will be required.
• Tracking activities, completing the required reports/results appropriately and on time as required;
• Reporting and advising on a continuous basis, the team's performance result/challenges to the Department Supervisor.
• Ongoing efficiency and performance of the equipment and team members;
• On the job training of team members;
• Provide positive motivation to all team members within the labour force section so as to ensure an ongoing positive work environment at all times;
• Being aware of and accurately participate in improvements to downtime and effective labour / machinery utilisation;
• Help direct the activities of the labour force and the workflow practices of all team members to ensure maximum performance and efficiencies;
• Provide coaching/guidance to operating personnel.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the Supervisor, Superintendent or Manager.

Experience Required:
• At least 1-2 years of prior experience at a sawmill
• Additional on-the-job training will be provided

• Completion of secondary school is required.
Wage & Hours: $43.59

• Shift rotation (as applicable): 7 on 7 off
