Charger Logistics Inc. is a leading transportation and logistics provider operating across North America. We are seeking a Truck and Transport Mechanic (310T) to inspect, diagnose, repair, and service mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems of commercial transport trucks across the company's fleet operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on commercial transport trucks, identifying mechanical faults, and ensuring all vehicles meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems on commercial transport trucks and trailers, including reefers, dry vans, flatbeds, and step decks operating across North American routes.
- Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems including engines, transmissions, drivetrains, braking systems, steering and suspension, fuel systems, exhaust, and cooling systems to ensure fleet reliability and safety compliance.
- Inspect and test mechanical units using computerized diagnostic equipment and specialized tools to locate faults, identify malfunctions, and determine appropriate corrective action across a high-volume, cross-border transport fleet.
- Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications, ensuring all vehicles meet operational and safety standards prior to returning to service.
- Estimate parts and labour costs required to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs, coordinating with fleet management and parts procurement to minimize downtime across active transport operations.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance services including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, brake inspections, and system tune-ups in accordance with manufacturer-recommended maintenance intervals and fleet maintenance schedules.
- Test and adjust units to specifications following maintenance or repair, verifying system performance through road tests and diagnostic checks to support uninterrupted freight operations.
- Complete detailed reports to record identified problems, work performed, parts used, and maintenance history, supporting fleet compliance documentation and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
Education and Experience Requirements
- College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years in a related field
- 2 to 3 years of experience in truck and transport mechanics or a related trade
- Experience in a fleet maintenance or transportation environment is considered an asset
