Position
• Job Title: Welder
• Department: Welding & Fabrication / Manufacturing
• Reporting to: Fabrication Supervisor / Production Manager
Job Duties
• Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications and work orders
• Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment (MIG, TIG, flux-core and arc welding)
• Weld components in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions
• Fit, position and align components to be welded
• Examine welds and ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
• Operate metal-shaping, straightening and bending machines
• Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding equipment
• Follow ABS established safety practices and regulations; report any unsafe conditions or practices to management
Job Requirements
• Diploma/certificate in welding or a related trade; Red Seal endorsement (Welder 456A) considered an asset
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience
• English language proficiency
