Position
• Job Title: Machinist

• Reporting to: Machine Shop Supervisor / Production Manager
Job Duties
• Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools, including computer numerical control (CNC) machines, lathes and milling machines, to perform precision metal-cutting operations
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and specifications
• Compute dimensions and tolerances, and measure and lay out work pieces
• Verify dimensions of machined parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure conformance to specifications
• Fit and assemble machined metal parts and subassemblies
• Maintain, repair and calibrate tooling and precision measuring instruments
• Follow ABS established safety practices and regulations; report any unsafe conditions or practices to management
• Support continuous improvement initiatives
Job Requirements
• Diploma/certificate in machining, mechanical engineering or a related trade (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience
• English language proficiency
