Credit and Collection Supervisor

$38.00 hourly

Job Description:

Charger Logistics Inc. is a leading transportation and logistics provider operating across North America. We are seeking a Credit and Collections Supervisor to oversee the accounts receivable and collections function supporting the company's transportation and logistics operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising billing and collections staff, ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions, and supporting timely resolution of outstanding accounts across the company's client base.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train billing and collections staff responsible for freight invoicing and customer account follow-up.
  • Review accounts receivable aging reports and prioritize outstanding freight and logistics charges for collection.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies raised by clients, carriers, or internal dispatch and operations teams.
  • Approve credit terms and credit holds for new and existing transportation clients.
  • Reconcile customer payments against freight invoices and coordinate with the accounting department to resolve discrepancies.
  • Assign collection priorities and monitor the performance of the billing and collections team.
  • Liaise with dispatch, operations, and customer service to resolve account disputes related to load or service issues.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly receivables reports for senior management.
  • Identify training needs and update staff on collection procedures and company credit policies.

Requirements:


Education and Experience Requirements

  • A college diploma in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field is required.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or a related area.
  • Experience supervising staff is considered an asset.

Required Skills and Technical Knowledge

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
