Database Analyst

Pearl Technologies Ltd. is a leading information technology and business solutions provider operating across North America. We are seeking a Database Analyst to support the design, development, administration, and optimization of database systems used across the company's software development, cloud integration, managed IT services, and client delivery environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing data requirements, designing and maintaining database solutions, implementing data administration standards, monitoring database performance, and ensuring the reliability, security, and integrity of the company's database systems.

Responsibilities:

• Collect and document user and system requirements to support the design and development of database solutions for software and IT services projects.
• Design, construct, modify, integrate, implement, and test data models and database management systems used across cloud integration, custom software development, and managed IT service platforms.
• Operate database management systems to analyze data, perform data mining, and generate performance reports for internal and client-facing use.
• Conduct research and provide advice to software developers and other IT professionals regarding the selection, application, and implementation of database management tools and technologies.
• Write and maintain scripts related to stored procedures, triggers, and automated database tasks to improve system efficiency and reliability.
• Develop and implement data administration policies, standards, and models governing data collection, access, retention, and security across company systems and client environments.
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to maintain reliability across cloud and on-premise environments.
• Develop and enforce procedures for database backup, recovery, and network access to ensure data integrity and business continuity.

Requirements:

Education and Experience Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of two years of work experience in a similar field is required.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience related to database systems, data analysis, database administration, and database management technologies are required.

Required Skills and Technical Knowledge

• Knowledge of database management systems, data modelling, and database administration.
• Experience with data analysis, database performance monitoring, and optimization.
• Knowledge of database scripting, including stored procedures, triggers, and automated database tasks.
• Understanding of database security, access controls, backup, and recovery procedures.
• Ability to gather and document data, user, and system requirements.
