As a Health Care Assistant / Nurse Aide, you will:
Assist residents with activities of daily living
Provide support with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
Assist with mobility, transfers and safe ambulation
Assist with meals and hydration
Encourage residents' independence and participation in activities
Observe residents and report changes in their physical or emotional condition
Follow individual care plans and organizational policies
Support medication routines within your authorized scope of practice
Maintain accurate records
Communicate with residents, families and the care team
Help maintain a safe and comfortable living environment
Follow emergency and safety procedures
Recognized Health Care Assistant qualification in British Columbia
Current BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry registration, where applicable
Good English communication skills
Ability to work respectfully with seniors
Ability to work as part of a small team
Reliable and responsible approach to work
Ability to safely perform the essential duties of the position
Having at least seven months or more of prior experience with seniors, assisted living, residential care, or dementia care is considered an asset.
Japanese language skills or knowledge of Japanese culture is also an asset, but not required.
The position includes direct personal care, mobility and transfer assistance.
