Job Duties:
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents to determine machining operations and specifications.
• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, including CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machines, to perform precision machining tasks (e.g., milling, drilling, grinding).
• Compute dimensions and tolerances, and measure and lay out workpieces using precision tools.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure accuracy and conformance to specifications.
• Fit and assemble machined parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to company safety protocols and standards
Skills Required:
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, materials, and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and blueprints.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Experience Required:
• 3-5 years of experience (experience in the drilling or mining industry an asset).
• Proficiency in operating CNC and manual machine tools.
Education Required:
• Completion of secondary school.
• Certification in a machinist apprenticeship program is an asset.
Wage & Hours: $38.00
