Glazier

Altitude Installations Ltd. is growing and we are currently looking for a full-time experienced Glazier to join our team as soon as possible.

Hours of work: 40 hours per week

Compensation: $38.00 per hour, 4% in lieu of vacation, medical/dental benefits after 3 month probationary period, bonus based on performance, travel expenses fully paid for out-of-province projects (at our Alberta facility).  

Job Requirements:
1. Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a Glazier  
2. Language: Functional English language is required (speaking, reading and writing)
3. Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Specific Job Duties:

• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine type and thickness of glass, frame, installation procedure and materials required
• Measure and mark glass and cut glass using glass cutters or computerized cutter
• Tint glass and create patterns on glass by etching, sandblasting or painting designs
• Assemble, erect and dismantle scaffolds, rigging and hoisting equipment
• Position glass panes into frames and secure glass using clips, points or mouldings
• Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors or glass products on walls, ceilings or exteriors of building

Work Setting:

Commercial buildings.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

Work under pressure; repetitive tasks; handling heavy loads; physically demanding; attention to detail is required; standing for extended periods of time; bending, crouching, kneeling.

Travel:

Must be willing and able to travel to Alberta to work on specific projects from time to time, at our facility there.
