Spice 8 Sri Lankan Fusion Cuisine is looking for One (1) Restaurant Cook/First Cook (Sri Lankan Cuisine) to perform the following duties:
- Prepare and cook authentic Sinhalese cuisine
- Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers
- Oversee kitchen operations
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
- Maintain cleanliness in all assigned areas, including refrigerators and freezers.
- Perform duties common to position and other duties as may be assigned.
- Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards - ensure that all food items for the restaurant are prepared on time and meet quality and quantity standards.
- Report any equipment on the section which needs repair or maintenance.
Terms of Employment:
- Salary: $34.07 per hour
- Permanent, Full Time/ 40.00 Hours per week
- Start date: immediately
Job requirements:
- Education: No education requirement; Completion of a community college program in food service administration, hotel and restaurant management or related discipline service an asset but not a condition of employment
- Experience: Minimum experience of 1 year in commercial food preparation of Sri Lankan Cuisine
- Language: English
