River Lounge & Banquet Centre is looking for One (1) Cook to perform the following duties:
· Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment
· Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables to prepare them for consumption
· Carve and trim meats such as beef, veal, ham, pork, and lamb for hot or cold service, or for sandwiches
· Prepare relishes and hors d'oeuvres
· Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment, work surfaces, and serving areas, to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
· Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers
· Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
· Consult with supervisory staff to plan menus, taking into consideration factors such as costs and special event needs
· Coordinate and supervise work of kitchen staff
Terms of Employment:
· Salary: $36 per hour
· Permanent, Full Time/ 40 hours per week
· Start date: immediately
Skills requirements:
· Language: English
· Education: No education requirement; Completion of a college program or other related program an asset but not a condition of employment
· Experience: Minimum experience of 2 years of commercial cooking; Proficient in charcuterie and cheese boards for catered events and onsite display; Experienced in delicatessen style presentations
