Responsibilities

Tasks

• Load, unload, and transport bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other masonry materials to work areas.

• Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete, mortar, and grout under the direction of masons.

• Assist masons in laying bricks, concrete blocks, and stone to construct or repair walls, fireplaces, patios, walkways, and other residential structures.

• Prepare and clean work surfaces by removing debris, old mortar, and other materials.

• Set up and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, and hoisting equipment.

• Operate or assist in operating small power tools and equipment such as mixers, compactors, and saws.

• Move and position materials using wheelbarrows, buckets, and pallet jacks.

• Maintain clean and safe work areas by sweeping, disposing of debris, and organizing tools and materials.

• Follow safety procedures and assist in ensuring compliance with building codes and site regulations.

• Perform other general labour duties to support masonry crews as required.
