Tile-setter (TEER 3: 73101)

MY OTTAWA FOUNDATION REPAIRS

My Ottawa Foundation Repairs has immediate opening for a Tile-setter (TEER 3: 73101) at our location in Edwards, Ontario.

As a Tile-setter (TEER 3: 73101), you will perform some or all of the following duties:

·         Measure, prepare, and mark the surface that will be covered.

·         Construct underbids and install brackets, wires, and anchor bolts.

·         Mix, apply and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives using hand trowel;

·         After positioning the tiles, press them into place to secure them to the base.

·         Use levels, squares, and straightedges to align and straighten the tile.

·         Using hand and power cutting tools, cut and install tiles around openings and obstructions.

·         Remove extra grout after packing it into the spaces between tiles.

·         Put in tile strips.

·         Install mosaic tiles to create eye-catching floor, wall, and mural designs.

·         Mix, apply, and smooth out terra surfaces.

·         Marble and granite should be cut, polished, and installed.

·         Inspect and repair tiles as needed

·         Meeting with clients to discuss their tiling and marbling needs.

·         may create orders and cost estimates.

Qualifications:

• Completion of secondary school is usually required.
• Completion of a three- or four-year apprenticeship program or one year experience as a tile setter.

Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time (35 hours/week)

Compensation:  $ 34.41/hour
