Role Description
Early Childhood Educators Role is to be a play partner, provide for the children's needs, ensure safety, and be a team player to all staff. Provide programming and assessments for each child in their care. Build a solid relationship with each child and family in your care.
Main Duties Required:
- Promote and support developmentally appropriate activities to the children in your care.
- Support children with their basic care needs i.e.. Eating, toileting, dressing.
- Observe and record antidotal information on children in your care.
- Discuss and brainstorm ideas, and concerns with other staff members
- Collaborate a relationship with each child and their parent
- Establish a relationship within your community.
- Attend workshops and conferences to grow in your field. Must have 30 hours within three years
- Attend two parent/teacher meeting per year
- Attend and engage in all staff meetings
- Work with the Inclusion Coordinator and support an inclusive environment for all children
- Provide successful and intentional opportunities for all children
- Daily document each child’s daily activities and curriculum, sign in and out each child on tadpoles
- Use ACT as our behavior management strategy.
- Promote an anti-bias approach on holidays Early Childhood Educators are required to sign a contract, Safety and Health form, behavior Guidance form, and read all policies and sign the Staff Manual. All staff require first Aid training level C, vulnerable sector criminal record check, and a child abuse registry check before they can start employment.
