ALM Construction Ltd. is seeking an experienced Concrete Finisher for full-time permanent employment. Salary is $36.75 per hour for full-time work (40 hours per week) plus 4% in lieu of vacation. Job sites vary so you will need your own transportation to get to work. Therefore reliability is key.
Job Requirements:
1. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience
2. Language: moderate to intermediate level of English (written and oral) at minimum
3. Education: no formal education required
Duties:
- Level top surface of freshly poured concrete on floors, walls, ceilings according tograde and depth specification
- Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement material
- Direct placement of concrete into forms or surfaces
- Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement
- Operate power vibrators to compact concrete
- Spread, level and smooth concrete surfaces using hand and power tools- Apply
hardening and sealing compounds to cure surfaces
- Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces and erect scaffolding and swing stages
- Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
- Mold expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers and straghtedge
- Signal and direct concrete mixing trucks to facilitate pouring concrete and move
chute to direct concrete on forms- Supervise workers and projects
Own tools: Steel-toed safety boots and hard hat.
