Main Duties and Responsibilities:
· Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, panel layouts, and installation drawings for light steel framing projects.
· Supervise other drafters and detailers responsible for producing accurate and efficient design documentation for panelized and prefabricated CFS structures.
· Lead and mentor other detailers and technologists. Provide training if needed.
· Prepare presentations and supply technical information for our clients as needed.
· Oversee design workflows, schedules, and quality control processes.
· Review and approve 3D models, shop drawings, and framing layouts.
· Coordinate closely with structural engineers, fabricators, and construction teams.
· Ensure compliance with AISI, CSA, and project-specific CFS design standards.
· Translate architectural and structural drawings into efficient steel framing systems.
· Support business development and estimating teams during design feasibility reviews.
· Implement and continuously improve design processes, software tools, and best practices.
· Maintain accurate document control, drawing revisions, and project records, project meetings and provide technical drafting support throughout project execution.
Job Requirements
· Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Engineering Design and Drafting Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Architecture, Building Technology, or a related field.
· Minimum 5 years of experience preparing detailed drafting and BIM models for steel-framed construction projects.
· Experience with cold-formed steel framing systems and prefabricated construction projects.
· Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Revit and Building Information Modelling (BIM) workflows.
· Experience using StrucSoft MWF or similar steel framing software is required.
· Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, shop, and engineering drawings.
· Experience preparing fabrication drawings, shop drawings, panel layouts, and construction documentation.
· Working knowledge of the British Columbia Building Code, National Building Code of Canada, and applicable construction standards.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
· Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
· Experience with prefabricated light steel framing manufacturing processes is considered a strong asset.
· This is not a remote position, physical presence at the job location is mandatory
