EDMA Construction Inc. specializes in commercial construction, renovation, restoration, and hotel improvement projects throughout Canada. We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee commercial renovation and construction projects from pre-construction planning through project completion while ensuring quality workmanship, cost control, and timely delivery.
Job Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, site information, and client requirements to determine project scope, quantities, construction constraints, and project requirements.
- Prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimates, project quotations, labour calculations, and project budgets for materials, subcontractors, equipment, travel, and project-related expenses.
- Develop project schedules, construction milestones, manpower plans, and trade sequencing while coordinating work around hotel operations and project schedules.
- Coordinate project mobilization, including employee assignments, travel arrangements, accommodations, equipment rentals, material deliveries, waste removal, and site logistics.
- Source, evaluate, and coordinate suppliers and subcontractors to ensure work is completed according to project specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
- Supervise and coordinate employees and subcontractors performing demolition, general labour, FF&E removal and installation, drywall, painting, plastering, restoration, and related construction activities.
- Monitor project progress, labour productivity, material usage, subcontractor performance, project costs, and schedules, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Meet with clients, general contractors, consultants, and site representatives to review project progress, resolve construction issues, and coordinate project requirements.
- Prepare and manage change orders, project revisions, and additional work while maintaining supporting documentation, including photographs, measurements, timesheets, and client instructions.
- Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and site logistics to ensure efficient project execution.
- Provide regular progress reports, schedule updates, manpower planning, and project status reports to clients and internal management.
- Maintain project documentation, including safety records, daily reports, invoices, warranties, training records, and project closeout documentation.
- Conduct final project inspections, coordinate deficiency corrections, and ensure projects are completed in accordance with contractual requirements before turnover.
Employment Requirements
- Completion of a college diploma or above in civil engineering, project management, architecture, or a related field is required.
- At least two years of experience in commercial construction, renovation, restoration, or project management.
- Demonstrated experience managing commercial construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and cost control.
- Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, building materials, construction methods, and project scheduling.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction project management software is considered an asset.
- Language: English is a must, and Spanish is an asset.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites across Canada as required.
