Job Overview
The Director of Real Estate Development leads projects from early planning, design and municipal approval through construction and delivery. This role coordinates project teams, evaluates plans and estimates, and keeps development work aligned with schedules, budgets, and project goals. You’ll work closely with colleagues and project partners to move projects forward and deliver well-coordinated outcomes.

Duties

• Plan, organize, direct and oversee the company’s real estate development and rental property operations, including the Finch rental housing development project in North York, Toronto.
• Develop and implement real estate development strategies, conduct feasibility studies, and oversee project budgets, financial projections and investment analyses to ensure project viability and profitability.
• Manage development financing and municipal approval processes, including coordinating with financial institutions, professional advisors and government authorities to secure financing, zoning approvals and development permits.
• Select, coordinate and supervise architects, engineers, consultants and contractors, ensuring development projects are completed in accordance with approved plans, budgets, schedules and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the leasing, property management and maintenance operations of the company’s existing and future rental properties, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Supervise, train and mentor Canadian staff involved in real estate development and property operations, and provide regular project updates, financial reports and strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors.

Skills

• More than 3 years of experiences in real estate management
• Master degree in management or related area
• Practical project management and construction estimating capabilities support effective planning, coordination, and review of project scope, schedules, and costs.
